Registered Therapeutic Counselor, and Clinical Supervising Director of Refocus the Senses and Training
Eileen Deswiage, BSc., MSc., RTC., MTC., RCS., is a Registered Counseling Supervisor, Behaviour Therapist, Trainer and Public Speaker and the Founder and Clinical Supervising Director of Refocus the Senses and Training.
She is deeply passionate about supporting individuals and families in strengthening their mental and emotional well-being, with particular expertise in nervous system regulation, sensory processing, anxiety, emotional burnout, and healing from shame.
With over 25 years of professional experience, her work has focused on supporting neurodivergent children, youth, adults, and their families, particularly those navigating Autism, ADHD, and AuDHD. Throughout her career, she has provided counselling, behavioural intervention, clinical supervision, and program development, while also training and mentoring professionals in the field.
What began as a desire to offer care that was both clinically sound and deeply aligned with Christian faith has grown into Refocus the Senses—a practice committed to providing holistic, neurodiversity-affirming, and excellence-driven mental health support.
Her work is grounded in a whole-person framework, recognizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. She integrates evidence-based clinical approaches with a deep understanding of how faith, identity, and emotional health intersect, creating space for meaningful healing and lasting change.
In addition to her clinical work, she serves as a Registered Counselling Supervisor, providing supervision and mentorship to counsellors, and offers training and consultation to organizations, professionals, and communities seeking to better support neurodivergent individuals and families. She is also passionate about equipping faith communities to engage in conversations around mental health with both compassion and clinical integrity.
At Refocus the Senses, the focus remains on providing thoughtful, individualized care that honours each person’s unique experience. Whether through counselling, behavioural support, or supervision, the goal is always to support individuals and families in moving toward greater regulation, resilience, connection, and hope.
She believes that healing is possible, that growth can be supported, and that faith and emotional health can exist together in meaningful and transformative ways.
